Sustainability
Climate change is driving companies to review the environmental impact of their business. For example, the EU “Green Deal” states that from 1 January 2030, cruise ships will be required to connect to an “onshore power supply” and use it for all energy needs while at berth. Companies are actively seeking sustainable technologies that reduce the carbon footprint of their operations and minimise emissions to air and water. Our team or experts has access to the latest fuel and renewable energy technologies that can be used by ports and shipping companies to transform their business.
Green Power
We are able to provide environmentally responsible on shore power supplies for cruise liners and other ships that use European ports and harbours. By using methanol as the fuel for the generators, the electricity provide to the ships has a much lower carbon dioxide footprint compared to traditional fossil fuels. Methanol powered generators are readily available to replace the conventional diesel generators. There 29 methanol bunkering facilities in use across Europe which demonstrates the readiness of this technology to solve the challenge posed by the EU Green DEal.
